NBOA is the only national association that solely supports the role of the independent school business officer and focuses on financial and operational solutions for independent schools.
The National Business Officers Association (NBOA) is the definitive professional resource and leading advocate for Independent School Business Officers. Through programs, online tools, and research on emerging issues, NBOA helps to develop solutions for effective and sustainable operations in independent schools.
Founded by 23 business officers in 1998, NBOA was, and remains, the only national professional association for the business officer in the country. The founders sought to create a community that would, for the first time, connect business officers with each other to promote best practices and standards of excellence within their institutions and the industry at large. Since its inception, NBOA has enjoyed continued success and expansion, with a membership that currently includes over 700 schools, representing every region in the country and several sites outside the United States. Today, NBOA member schools' combined enrollment is over 271,000 students, with combined budgets of more than $6.1 billion.
By joining NBOA's vibrant community, online and in person, the business officer is immediately connected to people who "get it." The community provides answers—person to person, business officer to business officer—to the myriad questions that challenge your schools every day. NBOA makes it easy for you to connect with your peers, and facilitates conversations that enhance your role as a strategic partner at your school.
