Listserv FAQ's

How do I ask a question to the listserv?

To post a message on one of the NBOA listservs (subscribers only) all you do is send an email to the appropriate address listed below:

Can I subscribe and not be overwhelmed by the volume of messages?

You may want to set up your email program to place listserv messages into a separate folder or have them sent to a separate email address to keep your normal inbox organized.

You also have a number of different subscription options that will help you manage the traffic. (Click here to change your subscription type.)

Regular: A Regular subscription means that you will receive each individual message as it is sent. On a busy day the NBOA listserv can have as many as 40 messages.

Digest: The Digest subscription means that you will receive one email each day with the all the messages of the day contained in it. Unfortunately, the format of the digest is not pretty. It is a compilation of email messages from many systems which makes the formatting difficult and does not include email attachments. If you see there was an attachment and you would like to receive it, all you do is send an email to nboa@nboa.net.

Subject Only: The Subject Only subscription means you will receive one email each day containing the subject lines of all the messages sent to the listserv. When you choose this option, you may see what was discussed for the day. If you are interested in any of the messages, you may go to the Listserv Archives and see the full message.

No Email: The No Email subscription allows you to subscribe to the listserv, but receive no mail. In order to see what has been discussed, you must go to the Listserv Archives.

Can I change my subscription information?

You can change your email address, subscription type, or place your account on hold in Manage Your Subscription. If you place your account on hold, you can provide a date that you'd like to have it reactivated. If you are unsure of a return date, you can send an email to Erin Lizzo erin@nboa.net to reactivate it.

Can I view old listserv messages?

You can search all previous posts on the listserv through the Listserv Archives. You may access the archive of any listserv to which you are subscribed.

I want to survey the group. How do I do that?

Go to Surveys and follow the instructions for creating a listserv survey.
