Nick Bakker was chosen as the inaugural winner of the Kenneth A. White, Jr. Distinguished Business Officer Award because he has inspired many of us to higher levels of participation in our schools and associations. Through his own participation, he changed the professional nature of school Business Offices and the people who inhabited them. His influence is widely felt and his encouragement drives many of us today. The award was presented by Ken's family and Nick was honored at the first NBOA Annual Dinner in Dallas, TX in 1999.
