Facts & Figures
NBOA was founded in 1998. Led by Terry Armstrong, a group of 23 business officers made the vision of a
national association for independent school business officers a reality. From that small group of schools NBOA has grown to a membership of over 480 schools.
The staff has grown from a half-time person at the beginning to 7 employees, dedicated to
serving our members and developing programs.
NBOA member schools have a combined enrollment of about 228,000 students and combined budgets of over $4.5 billion.
