Call for Proposals
Do you have expertise in an area of particular interest to independent school business officers? Have you dealt successfully with an issue affecting business officers? Do you have a fresh perspective about current and future trends that affect independent school business officers?
NBOA is accepting proposals to present at the Annual Symposium in Chicago, February 23-25, 2009. We are seeking presentations that continue our tradition of exchanging knowledge and providing solutions to issues facing independent school business officers.
Based on feedback from attendees at the 2008 Symposium, we are especially interested in presentations in the following areas:

Endowment Management
Environmental Sustainability
Facilities Management
Financial Aid
Financial Sustainability
Internal Controls and Risk Assessment
Partnerships with Others (Head, Board, Development, Admissions, Faculty)

Session Types
We are accepting proposals for the following sessions:
- Concurrent Sessions: Concurrent sessions run for an hour and fifteen minutes.
- Seminars: This year, we plan to offer two-hour seminars from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and three-hour seminars from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. We will also consider proposals for half-day seminars, with Part 1 in the morning and Part 2 in the afternoon.

Please note that the submission of a presentation does not guarantee participation in the Annual Symposium program. All proposals will be reviewed and selections will be made based on merit of content, fit with the overall program, and qualifications of the presenter. If your presentation is selected, NBOA reserves the right to revise titles, reassign the identified topic area, or edit the program summary for promotional and program materials.
